Ch. Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya (CSKHPKV), Palampur, invites applications for teaching Agronomy on a contact-hour basis for the first and second semesters of the 2026–27 academic year. The engagement is purely temporary.
How to Apply
Write the application on plain paper and send it by post to the Dean, College of Agriculture, CSKHPKV, Palampur, Distt. Kangra-176062 HP. The complete application must reach by 3 November 2026. Late applications will not be considered.
Eligibility
- The candidate must be an Indian citizen and meet the prescribed qualifications by the application deadline.
- For Agronomy, the notice requires a Master’s degree in the respective discipline and NET qualification from ICAR, UGC, CSIR, or a similar test accredited by UGC or the State in the concerned discipline.
- For candidates with a Master’s degree, NET is compulsory along with one publication in a NAAS-rated refereed journal where NET is held, subject to the notice’s stated provisions.
- The notice provides an exemption from NET for candidates registered for a Ph.D. before 11 July 2009 in disciplines where NET is held, if all specified conditions are met: the Ph.D. was awarded in regular mode; the thesis was evaluated by at least two external examiners; an open viva-voce was held; two research papers from the Ph.D. work were published, including at least one in a refereed journal; and at least two presentations based on the Ph.D. work were made at conferences or seminars. The Vice-Chancellor or concerned Dean must certify these conditions.
- Retired university or college teachers in the concerned discipline may also apply. The competent authority may relax the NET condition in exceptional cases.

Salary
- Master’s degree holder: Rs. 850 per contact hour, up to a maximum of Rs. 35,000 per month.
- Ph.D. degree holder: Rs. 1,000 per contact hour, up to a maximum of Rs. 42,000 per month.
Examination-related duties, if assigned, are paid separately at Rs. 5,000 per course per semester, subject to the notice’s conditions. The notice explains that one contact hour is one hour of theory or two hours of practical for up to two batches; practical work for more than two batches counts as two contact hours.
