Eligibility
All experience must be post-qualification experience. The required qualifications and experience vary by post:
- Chief General Manager/General Manager (Civil): B.E. or B.Tech in Civil Engineering. Relevant experience in metro, railway, flyover, road underbridge, bridge or multi-storeyed building construction is required. The experience requirement is 23 years for Chief General Manager or 20 years for General Manager in a reputed private organisation, or 20 years and 17 years respectively in government, Railways, PSU or Metro Rail organisations, subject to the specified executive and senior-grade experience requirements.
- Additional General Manager (Civil): B.E. or B.Tech in Civil Engineering, with relevant civil infrastructure experience. Minimum 15 years of post-qualification executive experience in government organisations or PSUs, or 18 years in private-sector civil infrastructure industries.
- Joint General Manager (Civil): B.E. or B.Tech in Civil Engineering, with relevant experience in underground structures, tunnel works, viaducts, bridges, multi-storeyed buildings or workshop sheds. Minimum 14 years of post-qualification executive experience in government organisations or PSUs, or 16 years in private civil infrastructure industries.
- Senior Deputy General Manager (Civil): B.E. or B.Tech in Civil Engineering and relevant project experience. Minimum 15 years of relevant executive experience in a reputed private organisation, or 11 years in government organisations or PSUs.
- Deputy General Manager (Civil): B.E. or B.Tech in Civil Engineering and relevant project experience. Minimum 10 years of relevant executive experience in a reputed private organisation, or eight years in government organisations or PSUs.
- Manager (Civil): B.E. or B.Tech in Civil Engineering and relevant project experience. Minimum nine years of relevant executive experience in a reputed private organisation, or seven years in government organisations or PSUs.
- Assistant Manager (Civil): B.E. or B.Tech in Civil Engineering and relevant project experience. Minimum seven years of relevant executive experience in a reputed private organisation, or five years in government organisations or PSUs.
- Engineer – Senior Grade: B.E. or B.Tech in Civil Engineering and at least three years of relevant post-qualification experience.
- Engineer – Junior Grade: B.E. or B.Tech in Civil Engineering and at least two years of relevant post-qualification experience.
- Draftsman: Three-year Diploma in Civil Engineering and at least three years of post-qualification experience in AutoCAD and designing. Experience in large infrastructure, railway or metro rail projects is required.
- Surveyor (Civil): Three-year Diploma in Civil Engineering and at least three years of post-qualification experience in civil engineering survey work. Candidates must be able to operate modern surveying equipment independently; large infrastructure project experience is required.
For several posts, relevant experience includes work on underground structures, tunnels, viaducts, bridges, railways, metro rail, multi-storeyed buildings or related infrastructure, as applicable to the post.

Age and experience are calculated as of 19 September 2026. The age limit does not apply to eligible serving GMRC employees, but this exemption does not apply to officials re-employed after superannuation.

For deputation appointments, remuneration will follow applicable standard terms and conditions. Additional benefits, group medical coverage and group personal accident insurance will be provided according to GMRC policies. The initial appointment is for a minimum of three years and may be extended up to five years, subject to performance and GMRC terms and conditions.

Document verification takes place before the interview. Candidates must bring their original certificates; those who cannot produce the required originals will not be permitted to attend. The interview assesses knowledge, skills, experience, expertise, aptitude and physical fitness. Interview details will be sent to the registered email address.

Only online applications will be accepted. Submitted applications cannot be edited. Private-sector candidates must upload their latest CTC breakup; applications without the required CTC details will not be considered. Government, PSU, Railway and Metro Rail employees should apply through the proper channel where applicable and submit an NOC by the interview date.
Documents listed in the notification include a detailed curriculum vitae; proof of age; SSC and HSC mark sheets; graduation mark sheets and degree or diploma certificate; experience and service certificates; pay-scale or CTC details; current appointment letter and joining-date proof; latest salary slip; Form 16 for the previous three years; and, where applicable, NOC and APARs.
Selected candidates may be posted in Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Surat or another GMRC project in Gujarat. GMRC may offer a lower grade than the post applied for. Preference will be given to candidates who have worked in Gujarat for at least three years and know Gujarati.
