How to Apply

  1. Visit https://ojas.gujarat.gov.in, select “Apply Online”, choose the Helper category, and click “Apply Now”.
  2. Complete the personal details, minimum educational qualification, any applicable additional qualification, and computer knowledge sections. Accept the self-declaration and click “Save”. Keep the generated Application Number.
  3. Upload your photograph and signature in JPG format. The photograph must be 5 cm high × 3.6 cm wide, and the signature 2.5 cm high × 7.5 cm wide. Each file must not exceed 10 KB.
  4. Use “Confirm Application” and “Show Application Preview” to review and confirm your application. Confirmation is mandatory.
  5. Pay the joint examination process fee through the online payment gateway.
  6. Use “Print Application” to print and save a copy of the completed application.

Upload only your own photograph and signature. If you submit multiple applications with the fee paid, only the last submitted application will be considered valid.

Eligibility

Applicants must have passed at least a one-year course from a Government-recognised ITI in one of these trades: Mechanic Motor Vehicle, Mechanic Diesel, General Mechanic, Fitter, Turner, Electrician, Sheet Metal Worker, Automobile Body Repairer, Welder, Welder cum Fabricator, Machinist, Carpenter, Painter General, or Automobile Paint Repairer.

Candidates who have completed an apprenticeship in the same trade as their ITI qualification and hold an NCVT certificate and marksheet may receive additional weightage. The apprenticeship must be in the same trade as the qualification entered in the application.

Candidates must meet the notification’s nationality requirements and have clear or normal vision. Applicants who are subjects of Nepal or Bhutan, Tibetan refugees who arrived before 1 January 1962, or persons of Indian origin who migrated from the countries listed in the notification must hold a Government-issued eligibility certificate.

Documents to Prepare

  • Your photograph and signature for upload in the specified JPG format.
  • Original certificates relating to educational qualification, age, caste, experience, and other eligibility, to produce when required.
  • For reserved-category claims, the applicable Non-Creamy Layer certificate, caste certificate, or EWS Income and Asset Certificate, within the required validity period.
  • For apprenticeship weightage, a valid apprenticeship certificate in the ITI trade entered in the application, along with the required NCVT certificate and marksheet.
  • For disability claims, a disability certificate from a competent authority in the prescribed format.
  • For widowed candidates seeking preference, a competent authority’s widowhood certificate, the husband’s death certificate, and an affidavit confirming no remarriage.
  • For sportspersons seeking additional weightage, a valid certificate for a competition level specified in the notification.
  • For candidates serving in a Government or Semi-Government office, corporation, or board, a No Objection Certificate from their department.

Date of birth is accepted only as recorded on the SSC certificate or school leaving certificate. An age-proof affidavit is not accepted. Candidates must carry a valid photo ID to the examination centre, such as an EPIC, driving licence, PAN card, Aadhaar card, or other Government-authorised ID.

Age Limit

The minimum age is 18 years. The maximum age is calculated as of the last date to apply. The base age range is 18 to 35 years; with applicable relaxations, the maximum age cannot exceed 45 years.

Salary

The appointment is contract-based, with fixed pay of ₹21,100 per month for five years. No allowances or benefits are payable except those admissible under the rules. After satisfactory completion of five years, employees become eligible for regular appointment on the basic pay then applicable to the Helper category in the Corporation.

Selection Process

Eligible candidates will be called for a 100-mark multiple-choice examination, conducted by OMR or CBRT as decided by the Corporation. Selection weightage is based on the examination and, where applicable, an apprenticeship certificate.

Apprenticeship weightage applies only when a valid certificate matches the ITI trade stated in the application and is verified at document verification. A merit list will be prepared using the total weightage and the notified vacancies. Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification, after which a provisional selection list and waiting list will be prepared.

The examination is two hours long and covers Gujarat general knowledge, history, geography and current affairs (30 marks); Gujarati grammar (5); English grammar (5); trade-related questions (50); and basic computer knowledge (10).
