Eligibility
The Department of Physics seeks a Junior Research Fellow for the project “Effects of Environment on Gravitational Wave: Search for New Physics”. The position follows the funding agency’s eligibility norms, not the Institute’s norms.
Essential qualifications: M.Sc in a relevant area of Physics, and one of the following ANRF requirements:
- Selection through National Eligibility Tests—CSIR-UGC NET, including lectureship, and GATE; or
- Selection through national-level examinations conducted by Central Government departments, agencies or institutions, including DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MoE, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER or NISER.
Candidates must have at least 60% marks or an equivalent grade from graduation onwards, and at least 55% or an equivalent grade in Classes 10 and 12.
Desirable: A consistently strong academic record throughout B.Sc and M.Sc; good working knowledge of general relativity and quantum field theory; and, particularly, projects involving advanced methods in quantum field theory. Salary
The consolidated remuneration is Rs. 45,880 per month, including HRA. The notice lists HRA as Rs. 8,880 per month, if applicable.
