Eligibility
- Applicants must hold a postgraduate degree in Library & Information Science (M.L.I.Sc.) from a reputed university or institution.
- Final-year students awaiting results may apply, but must produce their consolidated or final-semester mark sheets during the interview.
- Fresh postgraduates motivated to pursue a career in the field may apply. Only candidates of Indian nationality are eligible.
- Desirable qualifications include basic computer knowledge and working knowledge of relevant library automation, institutional repository, archives management, research data management or content management software. Consistent academic performance above 60% throughout and a UGC NET or recognised State-level NET/SLET/SET qualification are also desirable.

Age Limit

Salary
The consolidated remuneration is Rs. 30,000 per month, inclusive of allowances. An annual increase of Rs. 2,500 is based on satisfactory performance. The traineeship is for one year and may be extended annually for four more years, up to a total of five years, subject to satisfactory performance and the project’s requirements assessed annually.
