Age Limit
- Senior PAT (codes 17001, 17003 and 17023): maximum 40 years.
- Project Associate PAT-I, Project Associate PAT-II and Project Assistant-I: maximum 35 years.
Age is counted on the interview date for the relevant position code. The notification provides age relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST/PwBD/Women and 3 years for OBC, or as per Government of India instructions.
Salary
The consolidated monthly stipend is paid with HRA:
- Senior PAT: Rs. 42,000 + HRA.
- Project Associate PAT-II: Rs. 28,000 + HRA.
- Project Associate PAT-I: Rs. 25,000 + HRA.
- Project Assistant-I: Rs. 18,000 + HRA.
For PAT-I codes 17002, 17007, 17012, 17016, 17020, 17022 and 17024, the stipend is Rs. 31,000 + HRA for candidates with the specified qualifying national exam, including CSIR-UGC/ICAR/ICMR NET, GATE, or an equivalent national-level exam by a Central Government department. Other candidates for these codes receive Rs. 25,000 + HRA. The notification specifies HRA at 10% for codes 17002 and 17022.

Walk-in interviews are scheduled by position code. Reporting is at 09:30 AM; candidates arriving after 10:00 AM will not be allowed to appear.
- Codes 17001–17005: 16 October 2026.
- Codes 17006–17007: 19 October 2026.
- Codes 17008–17012: 21 October 2026.
- Codes 17013–17018: 22 October 2026.
- Codes 17019–17022: 23 October 2026.

Selection Process
The Selection Committee may conduct a direct interview or an objective multiple-choice test followed by an interview on the same day. The final decision rests with the Director, CSIR-IHBT. Requests for online interviews will not be entertained.

- Filled prescribed application form with a recent coloured passport-size photograph, cross-signed.
- Self-attested photocopies of age, qualification and experience certificates.
- Original certificates to bring to the interview.
