Eligibility
Only Indian nationals may apply. The notice lists the following essential qualifications; it does not map different qualifications to particular posts.
- A postgraduate degree in Basic Science, or a graduate or postgraduate degree in a Professional Course.
- The degree must be associated with selection through UGC NET (including lectureship/Assistant Professorship), GATE, or a national-level examination conducted by MHRD or its agencies and institutions, such as UGC, IIT, IISc, IISER or IIIT.
- A minimum of 60% aggregate marks or a CGPA/CPI of 7.0 or above on a 10-point scale.
Desirable qualifications include working knowledge of statistics, weather forecast data analysis or machine learning; expertise in Python and PyTorch; and experience with WRF and NWP data.
The JRF will work full-time on meteorological data analysis, computer programming, deep learning models, WRF model output analysis, and downscaling and bias correction of snow-met variables in avalanche-prone areas.
