Eligibility
The notice lists the following educational criteria for Field Assistant (Statistics)/Enumerator:
- A bachelor’s degree from a recognised university in any subject, with at least one paper in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Social Science, Sociology or Psychology at graduate level; or
- A bachelor’s degree in any subject with at least 50% marks in Mathematics at the 12th standard.
Applicants must also have studied English and one local language—Assamese, Bengali or Bodo—as subjects at HSLC level. A minimum six-month computer course certificate from a government-recognised institute is required. Candidates with BCA, B.Tech in IT, or engineering degrees with IT/Computer Application are exempt from providing a separate certificate. A valid Employment Exchange registration certificate in Assam is also required. A caste certificate issued by the Government of Assam is required to claim reservation.

Selection Process
Selection comprises an OMR-based written examination worth 175 marks, followed by a computer skill test worth 25 marks for shortlisted candidates. The notice says candidates will be shortlisted at a ratio of 1:2 of the vacancy position. Final selection is based on combined marks in the written examination and computer skill test, subject to merit and reservations.
The written examination has 150 questions and lasts three hours. Wrong answers carry negative marking equal to one-quarter of the marks allotted to the question. Selecting more than one option is treated as a wrong answer. Question papers will be available in Assamese, Bengali, English, Bodo and Hindi.
