Eligibility
The notice lists these qualifications and requirements for the Data Officer post:
- Essential qualification: Postgraduate degree in Social Sciences, Social Work, Population Studies, Public Health or allied fields.
- Experience: A minimum of 2–3 years of experience in research projects in HIV/AIDS is desirable. Preference is given to candidates with experience working with High Risk Groups (HRG), ICTC and ART Centres.
- Ability to communicate in a local language in addition to English; reporting and documentation skills; and skills in quantitative and qualitative data collection, data management and analysis.
- Experience conducting FGDs/IDIs with HRGs and the Bridge population.
- Commitment and integrity, ability to work independently, interpersonal and organisational skills, field-planning ability, willingness to travel, and sensitivity to issues affecting HRG communities and PLHIVs.
- Knowledge of the National AIDS Control Programme and programmatic evaluations is desirable.
The role includes supporting research tools and data collection, coordinating stakeholders, monitoring fieldwork, managing and analysing data, assisting with reports, and travelling to data-collection locations.
