Eligibility
The Special TET is for serving teachers at Primary and Upper Primary levels in eligible Uttar Pradesh schools, and Special Teachers/Assistant Teachers (CWSN).
- Primary level (Classes 1–5): Teachers serving in State Government schools, local body schools, schools recognised or affiliated by the State Government or Basic Shiksha Parishad, and schools receiving State Government aid are eligible. This includes Primary-level Special Educators.
- Upper Primary level (Classes 6–8): Teachers serving in State Government schools, local body schools, schools recognised or affiliated by the State Government, Basic Shiksha Parishad or Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad, and schools receiving State Government aid are eligible. This includes Upper Primary-level Special Educators.
- Serving Primary-level teachers may apply for the Primary-level test; serving Upper Primary/Junior High School-level teachers may apply for the Upper Primary-level test.
- Special Teachers (CWSN) at Primary level: Contract or deliverables-basis Special Teachers must have Graduation and an RCI-recognised D.Ed Special Education or equivalent qualification, plus an RCI registration certificate with an active CRR number.
- Special Teachers (CWSN) at Upper Primary level: Contract or deliverables-basis Special Teachers must have Graduation and an RCI-recognised B.Ed Special Education or equivalent qualification, plus an RCI registration certificate with an active CRR number.
Age Limit
The maximum age for Special Educators serving on a contract or deliverables basis is 60 years as of the exam date, 3 November 2026.

Pay online by Credit Card, Debit Card or Net Banking through the portal. Payment is valid only after bank confirmation; preserve the fee receipt. Completing OTR and paying the fee without submitting the application by the deadline does not make the application valid. Fees paid for an erroneous application are not refundable or transferable to another application.

Selection Process
The selection process includes a written exam. It has 150 multiple-choice questions, each carrying one mark, with a total of 150 marks. The exam lasts 150 minutes and has no negative marking. The question paper is in Hindi and English, except for language subjects.
Qualifying marks are 90 out of 150 (60%) for the General category and 82 out of 150 (55%) for SC, ST, OBC, Freedom Fighter Dependent, Ex-servicemen (self), Disabled and EWS (Unreserved) candidates. CWSN candidates follow the qualifying marks for their corresponding category. If the exam is held in multiple shifts, normalized marks will be used for qualifying criteria.
Exam centres will be assigned as required, and candidates must attend only their allotted centre. District information is to be provided 10 days before the exam, and specific centre details three days before the exam. Admit cards can be downloaded from the Commission website when available.
How to Apply
- Complete One Time Registration (OTR) on the official website before applying.
- Complete the registration and application form in English. Check category, sub-category, date of birth and gender carefully, as these cannot be changed after final submission.
- Serving Primary and Upper Primary teachers must provide their eHRMS code. CWSN Special Teachers must provide their RCI registration certificate number and active CRR number.
- Upload a scanned signature on a white background in JPG/JPEG format (10 KB–200 KB, 140 × 110 pixels) and a passport-size photograph (30 KB–300 KB, 300–600 pixels).
- Upload required certificates and documents in PDF format, each sized 50 KB–500 KB.
- Pay the applicable fee online. Use the correction window, available until 8 October 2026, to correct errors in the submitted application.
