Eligibility

Applicants must have SSC/10th Standard or equivalent with Science subjects and at least 55% marks, plus one of the following in the relevant trade:

  • ITI Certificate or National/State Trade Certificate.
  • Two years of full-time apprenticeship experience at a recognized institution.
  • Three years of work experience in a relevant government ministry, department, organization, public sector undertaking or autonomous body.

Trade-specific ITI or trade certificate requirements apply. For Computer / IT Assistant, the listed ITI trades are Computer Operator & Programming Assistant or Computer Hardware & Network Maintenance. Applicants relying on apprenticeship or work experience must meet the relevant trade requirements.

Selection Process

  1. Shortlisted candidates are called for a Trade Test to assess practical knowledge in the relevant trade.
  2. Candidates who qualify in the Trade Test are eligible for the Competitive Written Examination.
  3. The final merit list is based on performance in the written examination.

The written examination is OMR-based or computer-based and objective type, in English and Hindi. It comprises 150 questions and lasts 2 hours 30 minutes. Paper I covers Mental Ability; Paper II covers General Awareness and English Language; Paper III covers the relevant trade or subject. The source states that Paper I has no negative marking and that Paper II carries one mark deducted for each wrong answer.
