Eligibility

PostQualification and criteria
Young Professional-I (Post 1)M.Sc. (Agriculture), M.Sc. (Horticulture), M.Sc. (Horticulture) in Fruit Science, or M.Sc. in Life Science. Experience in fruit breeding, plant breeding, or plant biotechnology is desirable.
Young Professional-I (Post 2)M.Sc. Agriculture in Genetics and Plant Breeding.
Junior Research Fellow (JRF)M.Sc. (Horticulture) in Vegetable Science or M.Sc. (Agriculture) in Genetics and Plant Breeding. First class in both graduate and postgraduate examinations is required.
Junior Research Assistant (JRA)Master of Fisheries Science (M.F.Sc.), with first class in both graduate and postgraduate examinations. The listed desirable criteria include relevant field or laboratory experience, fish identification and water-quality analysis skills, an SCI-indexed research paper, experience with statistical software, data and manuscript preparation skills, and ability to work independently.
Young Professional-I (Post 5)M.Sc. Agriculture.

Age Limit

The maximum age for JRF and JRA is 28 years as on 1 April 2026. Age relaxation applies to SC, ST, OBC, women, and differently abled candidates as per rules.

Salary

PostSalary
Young Professional-I₹30,000 per month.
Junior Research Fellow (JRF)₹37,000 per month for the first two years; ₹42,000 after redesignation by the committee.
Junior Research Assistant (JRA)₹25,000 per month for the first two years; ₹28,000 per month for the third year.
